‘Nigeria still needs prayers to overcome challenges’

The Fatima Charity Foundation (FCF) has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the country irrespective of their religious differences . Such prayer is required to stimulate peace, progress, prosperity and unity among Nigeria.

Elegushi of Ikateland Oba Saheed Elegushi; Former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule; President Fatima Charity Foundation (FCF), Chief Bintu-Fatima Tinubu; Wife of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs Lateefat Hamzat and Former Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Lanre Babalola during the payer for the nation organised by Fatima Charity Foundation (FCF) in Lagos State.

The Fatima Charity Foundation (FCF) has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the country irrespective of their religious differences. Such prayer is required to stimulate peace, progress, prosperity and unity among Nigeria.

The foundation ‘Year 2020 Prayer for the Nation’ is the 9th edition in the series of the programme organized at the beginning of every New Year in order to commit the nation, leaders and the citizenry into the hand of Almighty God.

During the prayer session, the President of Fatima Charity Foundation/Iyalode of Lagos, Mrs. Bintu Fatima Tinubu said the yearly prayer for the nation has eventually gained recognition all over the country.

“ Since inception of the foundation, it has been able to impact lives positively and has consistently actualizes her objectives through various programmes such as prayer for the nation, charitable works like empowerment, public lecture and communal prayers”.

She noted that the theme of the event ‘Changing Nigeria’s Decadence to Decency- A collective responsibility’ has been carefully chosen to reflect the present need in the society.

“It is a clarion call to all peace loving Nigerians to help reshape, re-orientate, sensitize and teach our youth and the society at large, serving as a road map for youths to embrace only those values that would build them up into responsible members of the society and future leaders”.

Tinubu said, for the country to achieve a common goal, it is expected of the citizens to join faith in prayers irrespective of their religion differences.
“It is my earnest expectation as we all join faith in prayers irrespective of our various religion but as well meaningful Nigerians striving towards a common goal, in committing our dear country into the hands of Almighty God for evaluating peace, progress, prosperity and unity we will see positive change for the better’

The Elegushi of Ikateland Oba Saheed Elegushi in his remark commended the organization for impacting life positively.
“ I am delighted to join you today at another important intervention of this organization in the affairs of our dear country”

He enjoined attendees to make use of the lesson learn from the lecture and take the message back home in order to ensure that country return to the path of decency.

“I have pondered over this since I got the invite for this event and I will like to salute the founder of the foundation for reminding us of decency and also willing to proffer solution that will give us a decent society and country”

The Former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule congratulated the foundation for their consistency in ensuring the prayer take place every year.

“They have been doing it all over the years and it has always been a huge success. There is nothing in this life one is doing without the support of Almighty God and because we have choosing to always come together every year to invoke the blessing of Almighty in the governance of the nation and the affairs of the state we believe strongly that it is with the support of this prayer that God have been sustaining us in the state. I pray that, what we have done today Allah will accept the prayer and grant us peace not only in Lagos but Nigeria as a whole”.

She said for the country to eradicate moral decadence, the work has to start from the home. “The parent must be alive to their responsibility, they should not leave every thing to the school to handle. There are basic thing we must teach our children before they live our homes. Likewise the environment also impact greatly to our society,” she said.
