MPAC, ZSF seal pact to support visualy impaired Muslims

The Muslim Public Affairs Center (MPAC) and Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF), have sealed an agreement to jointly promote the welfare and empowerment of the virtually impaired Muslims through intervention initiatives that will make them more active in the society.

The Executive Chairman, MPAC, Alhaji Disu Kamor, said the coming together of the two groups was to improve the quality of life of visually impaired people in the society because they are facing increasing problems of accessing opportunities to learn and develop their religious knowledge due to difficulties of accessing vital Islamic educational courses and materials.

According to him, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would allow the two organisations to put their resources together in order to achieve a common goal and prove to other organisations that a lot can be done by progressive partnership.

Kamor emphasized the need for collaboration saying: “Unless an idea is not big enough, that is when it can be achieved by a single organisation”.

According to him, MPAC works are entirely based on volunteerism and it’s not affiliated to any organisation locally or abroad.“We do not receive financial donations or gifts from any government or corporation as a way of maintaining political neutrality and independence, MPAC relies only on support of everyday Muslims to run and sustain its activities.” he said.

He therefore enjoined every Muslims to invest and help the centre to better represent the interest of Nigerians. Operation Manager, Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, Alhaji Ma’aruf Ahmed, encouraged collaboration among Muslim organizations.

“No single organization can do it all especially in the area of humanitarian services, the needs of human being are enormous and resources available are limited,” he said.

Ahmed said ZSF was not restricted to Muslims alone as they extend their benefits to other religions.He urged every Muslim that has attain the stage of zakat to pay adding that those that are yet to be qualified for zakat can pay sadaqat.

Also, Branch Manager, ZSF, Iysa Oni, said there numerous benefits in partnership, hence the need for the organization to partner with another reputable Islamic group to achieve the laudable goal.

Hajia Rahmat Egbeyemi said the project projected the beauty of what is possible when Muslim Organization work together with shared values and commitment on community and social projects.
