Seven new Imams have been appointed and incorporated into the missionary board of the Lagos State Community Central Mosque. The new Imams are: Dr. Isa Abdul-Majeed from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Imam Al-Imam Raji from the Ministry of Science and Technology; Imam Saheed Aro from the Ministry of Agriculture; Imaam Mutahir Adams from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Imam Basit Baruwa from the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.

Others are Dr. Ahmad Saheed from LASUTH; Imam Alugo Abdul-Hakeem Oluwole from Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority and Dr. Saheed Ashafa from LASU foundation.

The Chairman of the Mosque, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi said the expansion of the mission board becomes necessary in order to strengthen the board, as some members are getting older, while some had died in the recent past.

He added that his vision for stimulating Khutbah on contemporary issues remains intact, as he had promised during the inauguration of the new executive of the mosque last year that part of his programme is to widen the Mosque mission Board by injecting new faces that would make succession within the mission board easy from within the State Public Service.

Justice Ishola Olohunnibe who led the Board of Trustees of the Mosque inaugurated the new Imams and charged them to cooperate with the existing Imams in lifting the mosques spiritually by preaching heart touching Khutbah and sermons that will avoid sentiments and keep the country united, adding that the mosque is the rallying point for all Muslims irrespective of their religious view.Imam Kosoko Abdul-Hakeem vouched for competence of the selected Imams, saying they are the best within the community.
