There are indications that the pilgrims under the Lagos State platform would depart Saudi Arabia for Nigeria on Tuesday, 28th August, 2018.Commissioner for Home Affairs and Lagos State Amir Hajj, Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abdul Lateef, who disclosed this in a statement made available to The Guardian, could not disclose the date of departure for other pilgrims, but said it depends on the official schedule of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the government of Saudi Arabia.

Abdul Lateef, while educating the pilgrims on the next activity after completing the hajj rites in Mina, assured that all logistics have been put in place to make the journey a smooth and hitch free exercise. He also pointed out that once pilgrims get back to Makah, they should be expecting the date of their flights.

“ The first Lagos flight is most likely to depart Makah for Nigeria on Tuesday, 28th August, 2018” while others will take place depending on the official schedule that will be released by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the government of Saudi Arabia”.He said, as soon as the date of departure of pilgrims are announced, they are to preform their Tawaful Wadai which means farewell to Kaaba before leaving for Nigeria.
