In an effort to increase Muslims’ consciousness of Allah while using the social media, a Nigerian Muslim software developer has built an android application that tells time in Arabic Language and also reminds its users of Ibadah (worships) to do at a particular time.

The app called Ibaadah Kit App was built by Yusuf Jimoh Aweda, who obtained a degree in Physics and Electronics from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria. He said the idea to create the application called Ibaadah Kit App was built due to the fact that people sometimes forget dhikr and other Ibaadah when using the phone on the social media.

“The app does dhikr, remembrance of Allah every 30 minutes, and the user is meant to repeat the dhikr after the app does”, he said. Aweda noted that before he came up with the idea, he had to do extensive research before birthing the lovely Ibadah kit.

“The app is also intelligent to determine the time of the day, advice the Ibaadah you should do or prepare for with hadith evidence. You can also choose from the color themes for customization.“The app does dhikr, remembrance of Allah every 30 minutes, and the user is meant to repeat the dhikr after the app does. It detects time and translates it in Arabic. The app is also intelligent to determine moment of time to advise the Ibaadah users should do or prepare for with hadith evidence. You can also choose from the color themes for app customization.

He advises Muslim young people to endeavour to advance their knowledge in software development and programming so that they can begin to solve the problems of this Ummah using ICT and to contribute to humanity in general to further project the peacefulness Islam stands for.
