Determined to take health insurance to local communities and bring its business operations closer to users of its products and services, Healthcare International Limited (HCL), a foremost Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in Nigeria, has opened offices in 19 locations across the six geo-political zones in the country.

Head, Southern Operations of HCL, Ayobami Ogungbemi, at a press briefing in Lagos, said: “These outlets are expected to bring us closer to our teeming consumers, a step that became necessary to ensure that Nigerians get quality service with assurance of very quick response in time of emergencies.”

Also speaking at the occasion, Head, Lagos Island Branch, Dipo Alli-Balogun, stated that the principal objective of HCL is to impact on the lives of Nigerians, irrespective of their individual economic status. That is why we have different products that meet the needs of different segments of the market which include corporate programme designed for companies, their staff and their dependants, whilst Community-based Health Insurance Scheme is designed for people in communities, either rural urban or semi-urban. We also have a scheme for the primary, secondary schools, and tertiary institutions”.

According to Ogungbemi, “HCL has a department in charge of quality assurance which guarantees that all our enrollees that need care get same timely and in the right quality. The department also ensures that all hospitals and care providers on our network are such that can render the needed quality services such as primary care services, the secondary care providers and the next level of services that enrollees might need like dental, optical, orthopedic, surgery, O & G, amongst others. In addition, the company has a relationship with few tertiary institutions for tertiary services that can only be provided by specialized institutions.”
