Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) has said it remains resilient to the fragile automobile economy in the country despite the setbacks.
The Managing Director of the company, Kunle Ade-Ojo, revealed this at an event in Lagos to celebrate his customers, who has supported the brand over the years. He explained that the annual event was put together to appreciate Toyota’s customers for their patronage in 2018.

He explained that Nigerians are not buying new cars because the last few years had been “extremely tough” for businesses, following series of crises in the nation’s economy.He explained that despite challenges, the company has remained strong and formidable with the support and cooperation of the customers.

Ade-Ojo said the purchasing power of Nigerian in buying brand new car has been “weakened” and “the unprecedented surge in prices of goods and services” has made ownership of new vehicles “extremely difficult for average Nigerians”.He, however, said despite the current monumental challenges, Toyota (Nigeria) Limited, would continue to devise means to enable customers enjoy their preferred auto brand.

“We will continue to initiate customer friendly, business improvement strategies aimed at making our brand more affordable. One of such strategies is the introduction of more brand affordable Toyota models and Spare parts.“We are committed to doing the needful at all times to sustain the culture of superior quality and excellent customer service that Toyota (Nigeria) Limited is known for,” he said.

Ade-Ojo added that Toyota had improved on its after sale facilities and services for the comfort of the customers.He also stressed that despite the fragility of the economy, Toyota, being a “resilient company” has remain afloat and well positioned to serve the customer better.

He also commended customers for their support and dedication to the Toyota brand over the years.Besides, TNL named First Bank of Nigeria as winner of its Special Evergreen Customer of the Year award, just as the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Petroleum Resources and MTN Nigeria were declared the first, second and third prize winners, respectively in the customers of the year award category.TNL Chairman, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo described First Bank as a dependable customer.
