Corp Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof Diji Aina, and Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Anofiu Olarewaju Elegushi, are among the industry stakeholders expected at the 2017 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Training and Capacity building workshop, the group has said.

Scheduled to take place in Lagos, the group said the event planned to take place in June, would focus on critical industry issues that would help to shape and galvanise conversation within the country’s automotive industry.

While the FRSC chief will be taking a look at “Decade of Action on Road Safety; The Gains, The Pains,” Aina will be speaking on “The Political Economy of Nigerian Automotive Industry Crises: Outsider Perspective.”

The annual programme with Ford Motor Corporation as lead sponsor is aimed at updating the motoring journalists drawn from the print, electronic and online media with the basic knowledge and practical details and recent developments within the local and global automotive industry.

Speaking on the upcoming event, the National Vice Chairman of Nigeria Auto Journalists Association, and also Head of Organising Committee, Mike Ochonma, said the event would not have come at a better time than now when the country’s automotive industry is at cross roads.

National chairman of NAJA, Frank Kintum, said the annual workshop is an avenue to continuously update the knowledge base of journalists covering the automotive sector in Nigeria.
