Four Fiat models line up as brand debuts in Nigeria

Although Nigeria is currently facing its toughest economic situation in history, Italy’s largest automaker, Fiat Chrysler, is optimistic that 2017 remains promising for the country, as its franchise dealer, Weststar Associates Limited, disclosed that the automaker will enter into market in Nigeria by May.

To start with, Fiat would launch four new models to secure a space in the sector, which is currently facing the reality of the economic situation, Managing Director, Weststar Associates, Mirko Plath, said during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos.

The organisation, which is currently the authorised dealer Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Dodge and RAM, said the company would market the new Fiat vehicles in Nigeria after the launch of the brand in May this year.

According to Plath, the organisation still believes in the Nigerian economy despite that the economic slump affected businesses adversely in the previous year.

He stressed that the coming of new the Fiat vehicles into the country will give Nigerian auto consumers the opportunity to own one of the best-selling brands in Europe.

Plath said: “we are optimistic that 2017 shall be a better year. Come May, therefore, we shall be launching four models of Fiat brand into the Nigerian market.”Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, an Italian-controlled Dutch multinational corporation, is currently the world’s seventh-largest automaker.
