The Vice Chancellor, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Professor Aize Obayan, has expressed the crucial role of privately owned tertiary institutions in addressing the admission deficit in government owned schools.

The V.C, who spoke yesterday at the commencement of the school’s 2017/2018 Academic Session admission screening exercise, noted that private institutions in the country have provided the necessary assistance in guaranteeing access to education to millions of admission candidates.

She however emphasized that private institutions are not dumping ground for less intelligent students as insinuated by some groups or individuals. The exercise, known as Landmark University Scholastic Aptitude Screening (LUSAS), which has been scheduled to hold every weekend in the month of June, witnessed an impressive turnout of applicants at the maiden meeting.

According to the V.C, the exercise aimed at identifying qualified and quality prospective students, who would be admitted into the university based on merit.
