UNILAG holds research conference

In a bid to enhance national development and support Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in the country, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has concluded arrangements for the 2018 research conference and fair.

In a bid to enhance national development and support Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in the country, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has concluded arrangements for the 2018 research conference and fair.

Chairman of the Conference, Prof. Abayomi Okanlawon said the fair is to create collaboration between academics and entrepreneurs for the benefit of the populace.Okanlawon said the 13th annual research conference and fair, with the theme, “Resource utilisation and sustainable development,” is scheduled to hold between August 28 and 30 at the Jelili Omotola Hall.

Director of Academic and Planning, Prof. Wale Okunuga, said the annual conference is to emphasise the relevance of research to improve SMEs in some neglected areas. “We want to reach out to those industries and especially the SMEs to see that they improve on what they are doing or sustain it to a wider scope.Okunuga added that the conference would extend the institute’s basic research into what will be useful and beneficial to the citizenry.
