NAPS urges students to take preventive measures against Coronavirus
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has urged youths to comply with the Federal Government’s control measure for COVID-19 outbreak.The National President of NAPS, Sunday Asuku enjoined all heads of institutions and students to ensure strict compliance with the Federal government’s directives, Sunday said “It is well understood that the closure of our institutions is reasonable and timely, the decision is taken in the best interest of Nigerian students in order for parents and guardians to monitor their wards closely and give adequate care.
Schools and institutions in Nigeria may not be able to control this dreaded virus, if it should attack any institution, in a situation where we have at least four occupants per room in our hostels; it is obvious that there would be a wider and fast spread of the virus.‘‘Our school’s medical facilities cannot contain, control nor guarantee effective measures to stop the spread on campus, we hereby advice that all hands must be on deck for the space of one month, while we all give the Federal government maximum support in the fight against COVID-19 outbreak in our country’’.The body implore students to avoid crowded environment, avoid handshake, use of nose mask regularly, to get pocket sanitizer, wear hand glove regularly, avoid overdose of chloroquine and alcohol consumption.
