Group donates furniture to schools in Edo community

A socio-cultural group, Igbanke Unity Forum (IUF) will on Saturday, April 20, present school furniture to all the 13 primary schools at Igbanke, Orhionmwon local government council in Edo State.

Co-founder of the group, Mr. Collins Edomaruse who disclosed this in a statement said the furniture would be officially presented to head teachers of the schools by the state government through the commissioner for education.

Edomaruse, a former editor at THISDAY and an online publisher said the IUF, a Facebook-based non-profit and non-political organisation was founded three years ago.

With membership strength of about 4,000, the group was founded to address the needs of all Igbanke children at both primary and secondary school levels.

In November 2017, the IUF printed and distributed branded books to all students of the three secondary schools in the community.
