The Rector, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Femi Omokungbe, has urged the chapel of Christ Redeemer Church to support the college in ensuring that the students are morally and spiritually upright.

According to him, the students should not only be academically outstanding but also spiritually and morally upright particularly in this time of increased vices in the society.Omokungbe made the appeal at the foundation laying ceremony of the chapel’s building in the college.

His words: “It is a special honour to build for the Lord. Those that built for the lord do so, so that He may be glorified. l also give glory to God for the gift of life to witness this memorable event. I will like to thank the church of God for its support and constant prayers for the college and particularly for this administration since inception. “He added that the college encourages freedom of worship and association in religious activities hence; both Christians and Muslims co-exist in harmony.

“We have provided designated areas for the church and the mosque within the school and have also created a prevailing environment for both academic and spiritual growth of the students, “ he said. The rector further gave his gratitude for the role of the church in inculcating the right moral values in the lives of the students because academic excellence without character is an incomplete education.
