Dansol seeks Federal Government intervention to curb exam malpractices

For the country to educate children that will stand out and make a godly difference, Dansol High School, Agidingbi, Ikeja, has charged government at all levels to deploy innovative technology that will tackle the issue of examination malpractices in Nigerian schools.

Speaking at the 2017/2018 yearly speech and prize giving ceremony of the institution, Executive Director of the school, Omotara Olanitori, lamented that exam malpractice is a big issue that requires urgent redress, urging all stakeholders to rise to the call and tackle the menace.She urged students across the country to embrace creativity and hard work so as to achieve both the soft and hard skills needed to move the country to a greater height.

Olanitori said, “It is one of our major fights as a school, to kick against exam malpractice and make sure it is eradicated in Nigeria so that the students will believe in power of hard work. You cannot achieve anything without working hard. With this we hope to get to the point where education is great again in the country.” 

Charging their students to keep working hard, never to give up and put God first in all they do, she said, “Our students are doing exceptionally well, there is always room for improvement.

The guest speaker, Emmanuel Opeyemi encouraged the students to embrace creativity, as it will help them during their graduate training and also make them to be relevant in this technological age.Vice Principal, Margaret Okooboh, said most Nigerian schools are faced with many challenges relating to standards, urging educators to rise and ensure values are restored in schools.

“A lot of Nigerian kids are willing to learn but the environment is not encouraging them to learn. Most schools do not have facilities and they compromise for their students to pass both internal and external examinations, it is a big problem for the country.

For us at Dansol, there is no shortcut to success. We take them through all they need to go through to be able to learn. Here, we are grooming responsible citizens to be professionals, people that will go out there and change the world,” Okooboh said.Head boy, Dansol High School, Marvellous Ogudoro highlighted the need of letting the younger generation know there is reward for hard work.
