Donates Lab Equipment to School
As part of efforts towards educational development particularly science education in Nigeria, which has remained below average according to available statistics and has become a source of worry to educationists, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, recently donated a full set of science laboratory equipment to Iganmode High School in Ota, Ogun State.

The donation of the laboratory equipment, which took place at the school premises in the industrial hub of Ogun State, was witnessed by students, parents, teachers and some members of the community.

While presenting the equipment to the school on behalf of the MD/CEO, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, Deepak Singhal, the Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Tope Ashiwaju, disclosed that the gesture by the company was to complement the efforts of the government in providing necessary educational tools to enhance learning, especially in the area of science and technical education. He re-affirmed further that they were more committed than ever before to improving education in the country as much as they could especially in the area of science and nutrition.

He urged the teachers to ensure they utilise the equipment effectively in teaching and improving upon the performance of the students in science subjects especially in their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASCE) and National Examination Council (NECO) exams. Ashiwaju further revealed that the company would also look at other social investment opportunities that the community can reap real, direct benefits from.

Responding on behalf of the parents, Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Mayor Hakeem Amodu, expressed profound appreciation of the community to Dufil Prima Foods while urging parents to ensure they groom their children well to take full advantage of the opportunity for their advancement and to ensure that Ota produces notable graduates in sciences, as it is a sure way to success and to bring glory to the community. He added that the students and parents should be grateful to the company for the equipment which he described as very sophisticated, noting that this is the first time the school has experienced such.

Earlier in his welcome address, the school Principal, Olalekan Akinosi, expressed appreciation to the company on behalf of the students, teachers, parents, the PTA committee and the Ota community for the equipment, which will go a long way in changing the face of the school. According to him, government cannot shoulder the responsibility of the education sector alone and requires the support of responsible organizations like Dufil and he called on other companies and brands to emulate this gesture and commit themselves to schools around them.
