Dansol High School doles out N2.6m cash to distinguished teachers

In the primary arm, Mrs Oluwakemi Olumide won the N500, 000 star prize as the best teacher; Mrs. Favour Odhe, took the second prize of N250, 000, while Mrs. Oluchi Ibekwe, got the third award of N100, 000.

Last Thursday, October 5, 2017, was indeed a memorable day for teachers and other staff members of Dansol High School, Agidingbi, Lagos, as the management of the institution rewarded their teachers in grand style.

Over the years, it has become the tradition of the school to specially honour its teachers on every World Teachers Day as according to the Chairman, Dansol Christian Mission, Mr. Tunji Akinyemiju, “the school knows the worth of its teachers.

“We recognise their inestimable impact towards imparting knowledge to our students and we delight so much in celebrating distinguished ones on a special day like this. We want them to know that truly there is reward for excellence.”

For this year’s ceremony, Mathematics and Further Mathematics Teacher, Mr. Joseph Oluwaseun Daramola won the N1m star prize as the best teacher of the year; Mr. Joseph Soyemi won N500, 000, the second best prize; while Mrs. Scholastica Mbawuike, clinched the third prize of N250, 000 for the high school.

Apart from the cash prizes awarded to the individuals that distinguished themselves in the course of their services, all the teaching staff of the school received a special gift for sustaining the vision of the founding fathers.

Director of Schools, Mr. Esan Oladapo, remarked that all the teachers in Dansol are unique set of workers as they teach, counsel, mentor, pray, fast, keep vigils among other commitments to ensure that their students gain adequate knowledge and attain loftier heights in life.
