Court hears suit against group on September 29

lawJustice Wasiu Animahun of the Lagos High Court, Igbosere has fixed September 29, 2015 for hearing of a suit filed against the Registered Trustees of the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) of Lagos and two others over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the election held on October 28, 2014.

The claimant, Mrs Clara Adetunji had filed the suit against Board of Trustees of YMCA, Mr Lanre Awosan and Mr Mike Onilude as first to third defendants respectively.

She alleged that the 3rd defendant was fraudulently presented as the winner of the YMCA election held for the 2014/2016 year and filed a motion exparte through his counsel, Mr Olumide Oyewole to restrain defendants.

Justice Animahun had ruled on the motion exparte on June 18, 2015 and granted an exparte order, restraining the 2nd defendants from parading himself or any other person as the Chairman of the group pending determination of the substantive suit.

Also the claimant alleged that the 2nd defendant has bias mind against the Claimant since the commencement of their relationship as members of the YMCA , for being a woman, and of the Igbo extraction and therefore demand N2million as cost the action.
