TO nurture a happy and better society, Christians have been advised to seek peace at all times and never to be anxious no matter the situation they are facing, because God would always safeguard them.

This was the admonition of Brother Ashbom Ebiti, guest speaker at a one-day Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Circuit Assembly, which held last Saturday at the organisation’s Assembly Ground, Gbogije Town, Lekki, Lagos.

The theme for the convention was ‘Seek Peace and Pursue it,’ taken from 1 Peter 3:11.

Ebiti charged the congregation to visualise a sleeping child, who is calm and peaceful and not worried or anxious of any problem. He charged them to seek peace through prayers and supplications and be alert at all times because Satan, like a roaring lion is seeking who to devour.

He gave three steps Jehovah has provided to assist people to gain peace, which he said include the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ to help believers overcome deep-rooted personal problem and worries, helping to cope with disappointments when faced with serious sins like David; and helping to deal with anxiety, distress and fears like that of Job.

Highpoint of the event was the baptism of eight candidates consisting of five females and three males. No fewer than 6,000 delegates benefited from the experience Watchtower summary that were featured.

The Circuit Overseer, Brother Solomon Oriogborigha, charged the delegates to be peaceful to all men, show respect to people and be ready to do God’s will at all times. Brother Olakunle Titilayo, on his part said that for peace to reign, people need to pray, especially during trials and tribulations. He urged the people to remember the scriptural admonition that money and material things could not buy peace
