This article seems to be a “meal to palliate fools”. Education, or lack of it, contributes to someone still projecting a culture of the pre – historic era into the space era. It will be a stupendous blunder to think that Hammurabi will defeat the United States of America in the 21st century! This is the quagmire in which the “northern puritans” are wont to find themselves if we do think that Boko Haram is not a NE problem. The SW, SE, and SS also have their own demons. Will those translate into Nigerian problems or localized ones? BH, kidnapping, armed robbery, ritual killing, et cetera, are all localised problems, each having its genesis and must be dealt with locally. Once this is not done, it is overblown into not just a national crisis but a global one. The argument could be made as well that BH is a global problem and not a NE one and then the whole world will be tasked to lose sleep over the nonsense! Let’s call a spade , a spade. BH is everything the author of this article doesn’t want it to be. Can the author answer the fundamental question: Why is this mindless insurgency not occurring in the SW despite the fact that SW can boast of a sizeable number of muslims? An American statesman did not mince words when he said that “Education is the foundation of civil liberty”. When he said this, he did not mean religious bigotry!
