Obasa, who spoke while declaring open the fifth International Conference on Women and Children at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, said that some of the claims, when investigated, turned out to be untrue.

He said as much as the state frowns at sexual violence in its entirety, women-folks should also quit the habit of dressing indecently.

Admonishing the gatherings, Obasa, from Agege I Constituency, said that the society should go beyond reproach in their campaign against women molestation, saying, some reported cases had turned out to be untrue.

In his words, “We should guard against false propaganda as some reported cases of violence against girls and women have proved non-existent. Our ladies too should desist from everything that can expose them to unnecessary violence. They should be mindful of friends they keep and the gatherings they go to.
