Asahi Brands Limited, the exclusive tyre distributor for Bridgestone and Firestone, has inaugurated its sixth retail outlet in Lagos, as part of its commitment to customer safety and increased focus on growing the Nigerian automobile market.

The new Asahi Tyre Zone, a branded retail outlet is designed to provide customers with an enhanced retail experience and a better feel for the brand and passenger car radials (PSR) on display.

The Director of Sales, Middle East and Africa, Bridgestone , Stefano Sanchini, who was excited about the opening of the new centre and the benefits it would bring to the firm’s customers, also hinted about a training programme being organised for its tyre dealers and drivers.

According to him, with the opening of Asahi Tyre Zones, the Brands now has six of such branded retail outlets in Nigeria, adding that the action is a testimony of the company’s belief in Nigeria’s economy its improving business climate.

He described Bridgestone as the number one premium tyre manufacturer in world, and stressed that the new outlet is designed to provide customers with an enhanced retail experience and a better feel for the brand.

Sanchini said, “Over the past two to three turbulent years, we have been making steady inroads into the Nigerian market as this is a pivotal market for our growth in the African sub-continent.

“Our product range fits well with the Nigerian consumer requirements and with the support of our key distribution and retail partners in Nigeria. We have been able to penetrate most of the key institutional and replacement tyre market segments. Now with the reviving economy in Nigeria, we believe it is the perfect time to step up our customer focus on this market with the established branded retail chain Asahi Tyre Zones.”

He said that the company took seriously organising regular training programmes for its dealers, drivers and other people connected with its tyres as a way to keep them abreast of the latest development in tyre technology.

In his remarks, Director Auto Division, Afriventures, Anil Sahgal, said, “The growing passenger vehicle segment of Lagos, along with entire Nigeria, has a lot of potential for us. The age old partnership with Bridgestone has enabled us to secure a strong customer acknowledgement for our products.”
