Online platform to bridge in livestock marketing gap
An online platform called Livestock247 has said its goals are to bridge the gap in the trading of the livestock and mitigate the spread of animal diseases to humans.
The aim of the new online space, according to the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Mr. Ibrahim Maigari, is to infuse technology into the livestock market, as obtainable with other products and services on various other platforms.
He pointed out that the platform is not only focused on bringing a radical change to the livestock market, but it also has the objective to bring together buyers, sellers, veterinary professionals, haulage companies, financial service providers, butcheries and abattoir operators all over the country to create a complete value chain of the sector,
With the three-pronged strategy of operation known as, “the triangle of commerce, health and technology, the livestock market has the capacity to thrive on the online space to contribute to the economy in its own way.
Maigari, who made this disclosure at a media parley in Lagos, noted that as the first of its kind in the sector, he was optimistic subscribers of the platform would have a complete and seamless experience keying into the process.
“No doubt, this is a game changer to the status quo of business in the livestock market, and an eye opener to the huge opportunities that the livestock industry offers the larger economy as a whole, if well harnessed,” he added.
