A renowned Agribusiness Consultant and Director of Marketing, Rome Business School, Pastor Toromade Francis, has said that sound knowledge of agribusiness is key to success in the venture. He disclosed this during the school’s postgraduate students welcome party.

Pastor Francis noted that agribusinesses fail in the country because farm owners and investors focus mainly on the technical aspect, neglecting to acquire cognitive managerial skills for sustaining their venture.

The Director of Marketing, who was honored by the founder of Rome Business School, Professor Antonio Ragusa, explained that sound knowledge of agribusiness reduces costs of production, boosts profit, increase farm yields and ensures effective distribution of produce.

He said: Many people go to school to study agricultural science; learn how to rear birds, cattle and grow crops, among others, but leave a gap in the business management aspect. This has made many farmers and investors in the sector to run at a loss.

“On the other hand, many farmers have managerial skills, but lack the technical aspect. This calls for training that will make their businesses sustainable and profitable.”
