AAUA students relish exciting experience at NAMACOS press week

Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, who participated in the just-concluded press-week organised by the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) of the school have described their experiences as unique and exciting.

The yearly programme themed “Good news, bad news: Journalism ethics and the public interest,” featured activities ranging from old school day, historical photo exhibition, praise concert, traditional day, indoor and outdoor games, cooking competition, public lecture, Jumat and thanksgiving service, dinner and award night, among others.

The lecture was delivered by multiple award-winning journalists and deputy’s head, investigations, Premium Times, Mr Mojeed Alabi.

Invited guests, prominent lecturers in various departments and the school’s head of department were all present and actively participated in the lecture.

One of the students in mass communication, Babalola Olamilekan, while expressing great joy for the week-long programme, said, “This is one of the best press weeks I have witnessed. It was educative, entertaining and informative. All the programmes were awesome especially the public lecture, dinner and award night.” 

Another student, Bada Aderonke said, “It went well. I’m excited I was part of it. All the programmes were intriguing and interesting. I learnt a lot.”

For Kolawole Samson, “All the programmes slated for the press week was great. I attended all the programmes. I am proud to be a member of the association, the executives, lecturers and students are wonderful.”

“I am happy and excited I witness the press week, it was one of a kind with educative programmes,” says Keshinro Ruth, a final year student of the department.
  
The President of the Association, Ajiboye Stephen and members of his executive expressed their joy during the thanksgiving service, praising God for a successful outing.
