The outgoing members of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma online news, received awards and certificate of honours at the maiden edition of its annual awards night held last Sunday in Ekpoma.

The event was sponsored by the AAU online news team to celebrate the efforts and the immense contributions by its members, which has led to the growth and popularity of the media platform.

The awards were, however, presented to members of the media team who will be graduating in November, to conclude the 2018/2019 academic session.

The graduating team members received awards for their dedication and servitude in ensuring that the online news outfit is not labeled a community media outfit.

The founder of the online news outfit, Ughele Ose, was presented with an award of honour, to commemorate his zeal towards the actualisation of the AAU online news.

New members were recruited in the course of the event to replace the outgoing ones.

The president of the online news outfit, Success Oboh, enjoined the new recruits to follow in the steps of their predecessors.

He said, “be dedicated to service and do not deviate from the mission and vision of the team. Information is power, so do not fail in your responsibility to provide students with first-hand information amongst other things.”

He, however, promised to make the 3rd edition of the AAU online news pageantry bigger than the previous ones as he presented an award to the current face of the AAU online news, Queen Tonia for her huge contributions and advised interested contestants to brace up for the occasion.
