Siemens Nigeria has unveiled a new global brand appearance – ‘Ingenuity for Life’, as part of its plan to ensure a strong foundation for the economy, by mastering the challenges of today’s energy landscape.

According to the company, ‘ingenuity’ means engineering expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, the power of innovation and the willingness to give the best for society on a daily basis.

‘For life’ means that in every generation, we at Siemens create long-term value — for the individual customer, employee, citizen and society as a whole,” it said.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Managing Director, Siemens Limited, Onyeche Tifase, said the company will be focusing on providing innovations that support the development of key infrastructure, drive progress and enhance the quality of life in Nigeria.

According to her, the ‘ingenuity for life’ sums up what Siemens has stood for since inception.

She said: “As world becomes more complex and interconnected, there are tougher questions being asked on how we can sustainably ensure faster and more efficient transportation, stable affordable power, safe and portable drinking water and accessible healthcare, intelligent precision edge manufacturing and so on.

“Siemens is investing beyond what we would have done in the past years. So normally, it means the times we are facing has made others to become more ingenious, creative , innovative, risk taking, but with a clear aim in the mind and result driven approach.”

Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Energy, Oladeji Williams, said Lagos State is eager to leverage Siemens’ vast knowledge and experience and closing the energy sector gap particular with regards to the Lagos State Energy Development policy also referred to as “Light Up Lagos”.

He described Light Up Lagos as a turnkey policy of the Lagos State Government to deliver constant, safe and reliable energy to the metropolis by powering homes, businesses and public facilities with the aim of complementing security, improving quality of living.

Williams noted that components of the Light Up Lagos afford huge partnership opportunities with global energy solutions providers such as Siemens with the State Government, in achieving its energy development objectives. “We have the utmost confidence that just like the new brand claim “Ingenuity for Life” that you will bring Innovation to bear in creating value for Lagos,” he said.

He noted that an average Nigerian is ingenious and resilient. “Every day, I see enterprising resourceful young Lagosians trying to make a living despite erratic power supply from the national grid,”.
