ASTEVEN plans to generate 50MW

ASTEVEN Solar, an energy product manufacturing and generation firm has unveiled plans to generate about 50 Mega Watts (MW) of electricity over the next 24 months.

Speaking on the side lines of the Nigeria Energy Forum Lagos Expo 2016, where the company was the recipient of the Group Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Energy Development in Nigeria, the Managing Director, Sunny Akpoyibo, said that the value culture of the company is built on the ethos of sustainability which includes economic empowerment, environmental conservation, clean energy generation incubated in a Private-Public sector cooperation.

He explained that the portable solar systems of different capacities would supply power to existing Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs), and also spur new ones in the fields of technology, agriculture, education, health and business owners.

According to him, Asteven will be partnering with Green Energy Finance Limited and other key Nigerian Financial Institutions to provide affordable financing mechanisms to fast track access to power to those who find initial investment costs too prohibitive.

He said: “This holistic cycle approach from our adopted model will generate around 500,000 direct jobs with about 50MW of power to be added in the Nigeria’s energy mix over the next 24 months,”

Akpoyibo added: “We at Asteven Solar are uniquely positioned to help Nigeria, working with the government at all levels and corporate organization to bridge this energy gap and simultaneously achieve environmental sustainability.
