On Corruption: This message is directed to the Finance Minister of Nigeria Kemi Adeosun or the appropriate Minister, ” Can you reform the banking sector so that every identifiable Nigerian, can walk up to the Banks, and borrow money at the prevailing interest rate, that is not too low, or too high like it exists now? That is, for example, I need a million or 10 million Naira and I walk up to a Bank for a loan. I am verified with my Nigerian Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN) that has my biodata. I ask for 1million naira, but because I do not have credit worthiness as a new borrower, I am loaned 500,000naira, to be re payed monthly in a year or two. I repay this amount in 6 months or on time. My credit worthiness, should be assigned high points, and reported to Credit Monitoring Bureaus (CMB). The next time I come again for borrowing, and I ask for a million naira, i am loaned, but now, at a lower interest rate. If I default, then the Bank reports this to the CMB, that will now assign me lower points, branding me as a high risk customer. This information is reported to all banking institutions in the country so as to alert them that I am either a credit worthy borrower or an untrustworthy one! This system, would allow common Nigerians to have legal access to their countries commonwealth, and also drive commerce and job creation! More people would be employed my Banks to work this system, credit bureau agencies would hire more people, the loans obtained could be used for business and to meet immediate basic needs, instead of looking for ill-gotten wealth to get by in life and perpetuating corruption. A lot of people are suffering in Nigeria, their entitlements are not been paid, their is hopelessness everywhere in this land of plenty! Please make Nigerians commonwealth available to them.
