Retiree, trader emerge millionaires in Sterling Bank’s promo

A retired Chief Accountant at the Supreme Court Abuja, Joseph Otorkpa and a spare parts dealer in the Sabongari area in Kano State, Augustine Chijioke, have emerged millionaires in the ongoing New Sterling Plus Cash Reward Scheme Season 2.

The promo draw also emerged Rev. George Bako and Mr. Yakubu Bashir as winners of N500,000.

The winners, who were selected through an electronic raffle draw held at Sterling Bank’s Corporate Head Office in Lagos and attended by representatives from the National Lottery Commission and the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), joined other 30 customers who had won N100,000 each and 289 others being rewarded with the sum of N50,000 each in the promo till date.

In the first season of the promo, the bank paid out a total of over N40 million, with five customers winning N1million each; six won N500,000 each; 70 got N100,000 each; while 579 customers went home with the sum of N50,000 each.

To be part of the reward scheme, all customers with a minimum balance of N5,000 automatically qualify for the cash reward draws with on ticket, while subsequent multiples of N5,000 results in additional tickets.

Non-individual customers under the Clubs, Associations, Religious Bodies and Societies category can also participate with a minimum balance of N10,000.

The bank’s Group Head, Strategy and Communications, Shina Atilola, explained that the New Sterling Plus is a hybrid account with the promise of many goodies.

He described the product as the perfect solution for individuals interested in enjoying the benefits of both current and savings account offerings without the associated cost of running a current account.
