A dropout from Lagos State University (LASU), Damilola Olufemi, has emerged winner of a N2 million cash prize in Fidelity Bank’s “Get Alert in Millions” promo.

Olufemi, who emerged alongside 17 other cash and consolation prize winners across country, said he opened the account few months ago and never expected that luck would shine on him.

Currently a music producer, the 25 year-old Olufemi said he was in his third year at the University’s English Department, but had to dropout to pursue his music career.

Presenting the prizes in Lagos, the bank’s Executive Director, Lagos and South, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, said the promo, which intends to give away N105 million in cash to potential winners, is aimed at encouraging savings culture and easing impact of the current economic slump on the bank’s customers.

Onyeali-Ikpe said the bank decided to give away cash because the economic situation is biting harder, hence the initiative would save people from hunger.

“We intend to give out so much because of what is happening in the country. Everybody needs money now and that is why we introduced the promo.

“We also want to encourage savings culture, so we have to do something that will encourage people to save more,” she stated.

Apart from cash prizes, 138 customers will smile home with fridges and generating sets as consolation prizes in the planned nine-month promotions, which kicked off last week.
