Following price losses suffered by major blue chip companies, transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a downward note yesterday, causing the All-share index to slide by 0.3 per cent.

Yesterday, the All-share index depreciated by 86.17 points or 0.3 per cent from 25,455.69 recorded on Tuesday to 25,369.52 while market capitalisation fell by N30 billion from N8,756 trillion to N8,726 trillion.
Investors exchanged 264 million shares worth N1.3 billion in 3,033 deals, higher than 203 million units, valued at N886 billion, exchanged in 3,320 deals during the preceding week.

On the price movement chart, Nestle topped the losers chart with 15.00 to close at N675 per share . Dangote Cement followed with 2.01 kobo to close at N169.99 per share. UACN lost 0.97 kobo to close at N19.48 per share. Stanbic IBTC shed 0.25 kobo to close at N13.45 per share.

Oando dropped 0.21 kobo to close at N4.07 per share.BOC Gases shed 0.19 kobo to close at N3.76 per share. PharmDeko lost 0.09 kobo to closer at N2.05 per share. May&Baker dropped 0.05 kobo to close at N0.95 per share. Unity Bank and Honey well flour mills shed 0.03 kobo to close at N0.69 and N1.41 per share respectively.

On the other hand, Seplat led others on gainers chart with 2.65 kobo to close at N309.15 per share. Okomuoil followed with 1.41 kobo to close at N29.77 per share. Nigerian Breweries gained 0.99 kobo to close at N108.99 per share.
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company added 0.17 kobo to close at N3.89 per share. E tranzact also garnered 0.16 kobo to close at N3.39 per share.

Ecobank TransNational Incorporated added 0.15 kobo to close at N15.15 per share. Guaranty Trust Bank garnered 0.14 kobo to close at N14.13 per share. Mansard and Avon crown garnered 0.09 and 0.07 kobo to close at N1.90 and N1.52 per share.
Diamond band gained 0.06 kobo to close at N1.30 per share. Cutix added 0.06 kobo to close at N1.36 per share.

On the activity chart, Equity assurance was the most active stock in volume terms with 79 million shares worth N39 million while Fidelity Bank followed with 29 million units valued at N39 million.

Guaranty Trust Bank sold 23 million shares worth N39 million.Sterling Bank exchanged 18 million units worth N28 million. First City Monument Bank sold 17 million shares worth N16 million.
