Mutual Benefits Assurance has renewed commitment to its vision of becoming the profitable and notable underwriting institution in the nation’s insurance industry, despite market challenges in the course of the year.

The Chairman of the company, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, who disclosed this at the company’s 23rd yearly thanksgiving service in Lagos, said “our clear vision is that we certainly want to be the most profitable company in Nigeria and we operate on the basis of professionalism and best practice. We want to be the number one and most preferred insurance company in Nigeria.”

According to him, the company is committed to adding value to its stakeholders and meeting the claims obligation of its policyholders.

During the event, the company recognised the services of some of its dedicated workers, advising them that it is always good for employees to distinguish themselves.

“Our team in Mutual has demystified the misconception that the business of spreading risks to promote investments can only thrive in the informal sector.

The whole of Africa has adjudged Mutual as the most innovative insurance company, because today, we have successfully used our strategic resources to purposefully play and add value in the informal sector,” he said.

Ogunbiyi, who recounted how the company was started years ago, added: “You divinely dropped the idea into my spirit, a young and restless professional. I conceived setting up an insurance company that would be unique and a model for what insurance services in Nigeria should be. You provided men and women as pillars of support for the vision, and the Trinity as the divine help.”
