AHEAD of the operational take off on July 1, 2015, of Vibrant Microfinance Bank Limited, in Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, indigenes and residents have been called upon to avail themselves of the unique opportunity provided by the bank for their socio-economic wellbeing.

Making the call recently at a sensitization forum at the palace of the Obi of Issele-Azagba, the bank’s Chairman, Dr. Peter I. Ejiwe, chronicled the journey from the first meeting of the bank’s promoters to CBN’s final approval for the operation of the MFB on May 27, 2015.

“The journey was not an easy one, but we thank God Almighty that we are there. This is our bank and we must patronise it and guard it jealously,” he said.

Speaking in the same vein, the Managing Director of the microfinance bank, Nnamdi M. Chizea, told his audience that the bank was an idea that its time has come, stressing: “Our people can now have access to formal financial services such as savings, loans, local funds transfer services, micro-insurance. Our pensioners can receive their pensions at Issele-Azagba and would no longer travel to Asaba, Ogwashi-Uku or Issele-Uku to receive their pensions.

“Our parents can now receive money sent to them by their children here at Issele-Azagba. We shall deliver all such money to our aged parents who cannot come to the bank.”

The Obi of Issele-Azagba, Agbogidi Obi Francis Jideuwa Ijeh II, called on stakeholders to come to the aid of the bank and his community to make the financial institution impact positively on his people as quickly as possible.

“I call on stakeholders to come to the assistance of Vibrant Microfinance Bank Issele-Azagba, particularly in the area of developing the bank’s infrastructure and building the capacity of its workforce,” the monarch added.
