UDSC Wins African Best Quality Diagnostic Company Of The Year Award

LEADING indigenous and homegrown company in the medical diagnostic and healthcare sector, Union Diagnostic and Clinical Services (UDCS) Plc has been awarded the 2015 African Best Quality Diagnostic Company of the Year in recognition of her professionalism in quality assurance culture and quality management practices.

The company received the award at the yearly African Quality Achievement Award (AQAA) recently held in Lagos.
The African Quality Institute in collaboration with IBMN Integrated Services initiated the award with the objective of celebrating leadership, innovation and creativity in quality management in Africa.

Speaking about the award, the senior manager, Corporate/Administration, Mrs. Owaneye Irene, said the recognition was timing and inspiring, as it would spur the company to go the extra mile in rendering quality services to its clients in Nigeria and across Africa.

She explained that UDSC as a leading indigenous company has been a top player in the diagnostic and healthcare sector since 1994, offering world-class services ranging from Sonology, including Colour Doppler imaging, X-ray imaging, Electrocardiography, Endoscopy, Computed Tomography (CT Scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Echocardiography (ECG), Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), Cytology, Toxicology, Immuno Assay and DNA testing, among other laboratory services.

According to her, the company also engages in sales and distribution of medical equipment for reputed companies in Europe, Asia and the U. S. through its branches nationwide.

She added that the company has mega diagnostic facilities in Victoria Island and Yaba in Lagos, Kano, Abeokuta, Port-Harcourt, Benin and Jos, which serve as a one-stop shop for all medical investigations.

She said: “We have our presence in 12 states in Nigeria, with 20 branches, which makes us the largest diagnostic firm in West Africa and with the most extensive workload (as per our statistics of 250,000 clients per annum base on 2010 figure). We are also the first public liability diagnostic firm in Nigeria as well as the first in its field to be quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
