LCCI drums support for economic diversification

Unveils 2015 Lagos international trade fair with new features

Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has presented the prospectus for the 2015 international trade fair, with new scripted to support the government’s economic diversification agenda.

Speaking in Lagos to unveil the prospectus on Tuesday, President of the chamber, Aderemi Bello said that the exhibition, tagged ‘Enhancing Value Addition in the Non Oil Economy’, would draw attention to the imperative of non-oil exports, as well as give priority to the opportunities that abound in the value addition business to enhance learning and profitability.

“We have broadened the horizon and scope of our trade fair and investment opportunities for our exhibitors and visitors at the fair. This achievement we intend to sustain, with an even better delivery of value,” he said.

According to Bello, the trade fair to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos with two additional venues (Muson Centre Onikan and Freedom Park, Lagos), Nigeria’s land mass as well as human resources are more than enough to support massive agricultural development and power industries.

He said: “2015 Lagos international trade fair will provide a platform to, not only identify these alternatives to oil, but the fair will also give exposure to value addition”.

Bello added that the introduction of the new venues would accommodate corporate exhibition, business-to-business meetings and the rapidly growing Nigeria’s creative industry.
