According to the firm, it is a new step to provide full range of high quality products by constantly reviewing ways to improve the market share of existing range of products to forestall fake plugs entering the market.

In a statement, the firm noted that the move was part of measures to detect fake products, while efforts are underway to launch substantial education campaign that will include training for auto mechanics, customer awareness and press campaign.

Deputy Group Managing Director, Kewalram Chanrai Group, Victor Eburajolo said: “We are aware of the fake NGK plugs in Nigeria and to that extent we will deploy resources to educate motor mechanics on the unique features of original NGK plugs from other plugs.

“We will collaborate with regulatory bodies to fight fake products into the country. By the time we do that consumers will not buy the fake products again”.

There are going to be enlightenment programme to be organised for our dealers around the country.”

He stated that Kewalram Group will not compromise on its mission of delivering quality and affordable products to its consumers, adding “There are NKG Spark plugs, Brazil and Japan. The two brands are of superior quality, but what NGK Spark Plug is doing is to synergize its distribution of products.”
