Continental Reinsurance has announced the recent employment of Shola Ajibade as General Manager, Operations, Anglophone West Africa.

He is an accomplished reinsurance underwriter and joins Continental Reinsurance with over 25 years experience in insurance and reinsurance business. He has garnered his experience through serving in leading institutions under different capacities. His last role was with Aon Benfield South Africa where he held the position of Executive (treaty) for Sub Sahara Africa and was previously the senior broker for West Africa and Portuguese markets. Prior to joining Aon Benfield he worked at Swiss Re South Africa and Swiss Re Ivory Coast. He also worked in senior executive positions at United African Insurance Brokers (UAIB) Nigeria, The Lion of Africa Insurance Company, Nigeria and Africa Re, Nigeria from where he started his career as an Underwriting Assistant.

Ajibade is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Institute, London, Fellow Insurance Institute of South Africa and an MBA holder from the University of South Africa. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Insurance from the Lagos State College of Science and Technology.
