Institute of arbitrators to launch MSME scheme 

The Nigeria branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will on July 7, launch Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) scheme at the International Centre for Arbitration and ADR, Lekki, Lagos.

The Nigeria branch chairman, Mrs. Doyin Rhodes-Vivour, in a statement sent to The Guardian, said the launch, which is expected to start by 11a.m., would mark the beginning of expedited alternate dispute resolution for business and corporate orgnanisations in Nigeria.

According to Rhodes-Vivour, aside having positive impact on business in the country, the launch will attract key players in the corporate world and also notable government officials.

Founded in the United Kingdom in 1915 and granted Royal Charter in 1979, the body promotes and facilitates alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to litigation in court and exists in about 133 countries across the globe. The Nigeria branch attained branch status in 1999 and has about 1,137 members.
