LCCI to assess government’s ease of doing business policy today

According to the chamber, the assessment will be done at the yearly seminar of the group themed, Ease of doing business: Economic realities for SMEs”, scheduled to hold in Lagos, today.

The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), alongside other stakeholders, will today appraise the Federal Government’s ease of doing business policy as part of measures to enhance sustainability.

According to the chamber, the assessment will be done at the yearly seminar of the group themed, Ease of doing business: Economic realities for SMEs”, scheduled to hold in Lagos, today.

The yearly SME seminar, according to the Group’s Chairman, Jon Kachikwu, would be used to highlight the opportunities and challenges in the SME sector; and evaluate the extent to which the Federal Government’s policy on ease of doing business has positioned businesses, particularly SMEs towards growth and economic sustainability in the country.

Scheduled to hold at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Ikeja, Lagos by 10am, Kachikwu further disclosed that, “speakers at the event include: Assistant Comptroller General, Abueh, Zonal Coordinator, Nigeria Customs Service; Director General, National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control; USAID/NEXTT; Barr. Prince Joel, Principal Partner, Prince Joel & Associates and Mr. Joy Akinolu, Consultant, Bank of Industry.

“The event is expected to be chaired by the President of The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mrs. Nike Akande, CON.” He also explained that, “the LCCI SME Group is a very active arm of the Chamber known for its constructive engagement on critical issues affecting the operations and activities of its members, with the aim of creating enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.”
