Financial stocks lead NSE’s N17.3b transactions’ volume

This was in contrast to 1.358 billion shares valued at N14.722 billion that changed hands in 14,772 deals during the preceding week’s trading.

The financial services industry, by volume, led the activity chart with 1.714 billion shares worth N10.770 billion, in 9,378 deals.

The conglomerates Industry followed with a turnover of 73.433 million shares worth N173.733 million in 908 deals, while the oil and gas industry trailed with 62.711 million shares worth N2.702 billion in 1,688 deals.

Trading in the top three equities- Access Bank Plc, Zenith International Bank Plc and United Bank for Africa Plc, by volume, accounted for 1.276 billion shares worth N8.340 billion in 2,782 deals, contributing 65.45 per cent and 48.11per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

Also traded during the week were a total of 7,291 units of Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) valued at N437,490.20 executed in 35 deals.
