In a bid to boost the morale of officers and men of the Nigeria armed forces currently fighting insurgency in the North East, Erisco Foods Limited has donated a trailer load of food items worth millions of Naira to the troops. Presenting the food items as well as a cheque of one million Naira to the widow of late Lt. Col. Abu Alli at the Defence headquarters Garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja in a short ceremony, the President/CEO of Erisco Foods Limited, Chief Eric Odinaka Umeofia disclosed that the efforts of the officers and men of the Nigerian military needs to be appreciated as he noted that no meaningful success can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.

Continuing, Umeofia said “I thank God for the opportunity of making this presentation because it is borne out of desire to encourage and motivate the officers and men of the military who have recorded huge success in the fight against Boko Haram and making sure that the country is safe and secure”. He further noted that the patriotic zeal of our military to secure the territorial integrity of the country is commendable, hence the need to boost their morale with food items that can be easily eaten while at the war front.

“If only 10% of Nigerians are as patriotic as the military and contribute their quota to National development, we will overcome all these challenges bedeviling our nation including poverty, recession and corruption. It’s our prayers that God will continue to safeguard the officers and men as they work assiduously to keep the country safe”.

Recall that this is the third time Erisco Foods Limited will be donating food items to the military as they have in the past presented food items worth millions of Naira on two occasions and a brand new made-in-Nigeria IVM 4×4 Van to the defense authorities. Chief Umeofia in a recent encounter disclosed that Erisco Foods was inspired to make this donation in recognition of the gallantry, professionalism and sacrifice that officers and men of the Nigerian military were exhibiting in their patriotic drive to bring peace and security into every single part of Nigeria. Specifically, Umeofia observed that under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, the military has recorded significant success in its war against Boko Haram and insurgency across the North-East, noting that the President and the Nigerian armed forces requires the support and prayers of all patriotic Nigerians to succeed.
