My name Emmanuel, aka Emmy Kay and what I do is hair styling.I am just in love with what I do and really passionate about it. I’m always happy and on top of the world, when I’m handling hair.

I started this job, when I was growing up. The love for making hair beautiful can be traced to the fact that I love beautiful things. The first time I tried making hair, it came so natural and easy to me, even though no one had taught me before. Seeing how good it turned out made me develop more interest in it. So, I went to a professional who taught me the process properly.

This work requires original products, but it is a little hard getting original products from the market. I always go for original products because they last longer. They also make customers happy because they get satisfaction from getting their hair styled with good, quality products.

My role model is Raymond Kachi, and I really want to strive towards attaining his feat in a few years time. One of the major problems I face in this business is getting my own clients, as my potential customers don’t believe I can style their hair satisfactorily, even though they were referred to me, and after showing them my previous works.
One of the major problems I am solving is in the area of beauty. We bring out our customers’ inner beauty.

Making customers beautiful is my major reason for doing this work and getting better at it. I keep working daily on myself to bring out the best in me. I also love learning new styles whenever I see them. For you to give out the best, you must be the best. Nobody has monopoly of knowledge; so, I keep learning every time I see what I don’t know or had never seen before.

My vision is to be among the top five best stylists in Nigeria. I also want to be known in other countries, as well as train more people to do the same thing I am doing.I don’t feel intimidated doing the job, and even when my friends laugh at me for doing what is supposed to be feminine, I just turn deaf ears to them. I don’t believe any job or profession is meant to be for a particular gender. What really matters is if it’s cool and you love doing it.

Presently, I get costumers through the person I work with, but it all depends on what customers want.I believe education is important. So, I don’t joke with school, but I create time for my work and ensure they don’t affect each other.

My goal is to be successful at everything I lay my hands on.My parents have been supportive and they encourage me. They don’t see it anything wrong with what I’m doing; they are just supporting a child who has a passion for something.

My advice for kids and teens out there is that they should learn a skill, because it is going to be useful to them in future. You can never can tell what will happen in the future.
Do your best to be the best of your best. See you are the top.
