ENL Consortium, operator of Terminals C and D of the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa has won the prestigious Seatrade Award held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

ENL Consortium, an indigenous Nigerian company, according to a statement did the country proud on the global scene as the best of shipping and maritime operators across the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent were honoured at the annual Seatrade Awards, as it won the Port & Container Terminal Development Award.

The statement explained that it is the first time any Nigerian company will win such award.

The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of ENL Consortium, Princess Vicky Haastrup said: “We are quite excited because the awards were very competitive. It is a great honour to be recognised among the best port operators in the world.”

Haastrup said her company is proud to be part of the success story of Nigeria’s port concession regime, which according to her has boosted operational efficiency at the nation’s seaports.

She said: “This is a further proof that Nigeria’s port concessioning programme is a huge success and has continued to receive international accolades. We have achieved more than 200 percent performance growth within a relatively short period of time.

“At ENL terminals, we ensure that we add value to all our stakeholders and customers including importers, agents, shipping companies and government,” Haastrup said.

With 11 berths and capacity to handle between 9.7 and 11 meters draft, “ENL offers complete discharging services on all essential commodities coming into Nigeria.

The company said it provides superior stevedoring services and with its state of the art plants and equipment, well-trained staff and critical IT infrastructure.
