DPR, downstream operators to meet over regulatory compliance

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Abuja Zone, yesterday, said arrangement has been concluded to host major stakeholders in the sector on the need for regulatory compliance in the nation’s oil and gas industry.

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Abuja Zone, yesterday, said arrangement has been concluded to host major stakeholders in the sector on the need for regulatory compliance in the nation’s oil and gas industry.

The programme, tagged: Annual General stakeholders Meeting for 2018, would specially look at “Regulatory Compliance as a Veritable Tool for Safe and Efficient Operations in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Industry,” spokesman for the zone, Mohammed Bulama Saidu, has said.

According to him, the meeting is scheduled to take place at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, on Thursday, January 10.He explained that the meeting will bring together stakeholders, including major and independent petroleum marketers, National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), depot operators and other related agencies.

Saidu added that energy experts, industry consultants, and the general public have equally confirmed participation in the programme, which would sanitise the sector and provide a safer environment.The event, he said, is also expected to review the out gone year, deliberate on lessons learnt from all sides in 2018, and how to get all hands on deck to ensure smooth and safe downstream operations for all stakeholders in 2019.
