Company rep berates regulatory agencies
The representative of SC Johnson West Africa, manufacturers/distributors of Kiwi brand shoe polish, Mr. Oghale Elueni has accused regulatory agencies, including Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) of frustrating manufacturers’ efforts by refusing to act, when complaints against fake product importers were brought before them.
Elueni, who made this allegation, while fielding questions from newsmen in Awka, Anambra State at the weekend, when security operative burnt fake shoe polish estimated at over N30m on the orders of an Onitsha High Court, also condemned activities of adulterators.
He said: “When you take a report to them, you discover that it takes as long as six months before they work on your complaints, by which time the importers would have been alerted.
