BUA emerges ‘cement brand of the year’

For remaining consistent in the delivery of product offerings, BUA Cement has been declared the winner of the Cement Brand of the Year at the 2015 Marketing World Awards.

According to a statement from the company, BUA Cement was declared winner above other major cement manufacturers.

Instinct Media, organisers of the Marketing World Awards, explained that BUA Cement was given the award for its consistency in delivering superior product offerings as well as setting the pace for cement manufacturing in Nigeria.

“BUA Cement has also shown very strong brand equity and leadership in its key markets and achieved a high perception of quality amongst users of cement in Nigeria”, the firm added.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, O’tega Ogra, Group Head, Corporate Communications at BUA Group commended the organisers for the award and said BUA Cement will continue to push the boundaries of innovation in its processes and products whilst offering an unparalleled level of service which has so far endeared it to its customers.

“To further entrench our place as a leading manufacturer, make cement more accessible as well as bring about a sustainable and fairer pricing regime, we are currently expanding our cement lines in Northern and Southern Nigeria by adding about 5million metric tonnes to our production capacity within the next 2 years.“

The Marketing World Awards, though in its fifth year, has been celebrating excellence, innovation and creativity as well as rewarding outstanding performance in various sectors of the economy.

BUA Cement currently operates cement manufacturing concerns across Nigeria as well as a 2million MTPA floating terminal, BUA Cement I.

Its flagship 3.5million MTPA Obu Cement Plant in Edo State was supplied by the FLsmidth of Denmark with civil construction by Julius Berger. The company intends to increase its capacity to 10million MTPA by 2017.
