Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Ogun State Governor, has commissioned logistics facilities built by Reckitt Benckiser (RB) Nigeria Limited, in the State.

The Distribution centre with state-of-the-art facilities, was erected in Agbara area of the State costing a whopping sum of N900million.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Senator Amosun lauded the investors’ commitment to Nigeria’s economic growth with the commissioning of the new centre in Ogun State.

He said that the gesture will contribute immensely to job creation at the host community, while enhancing the capacity of manufacturing and production.

“The choice of building this fantastic facility in Ogun State is a testament to the conducive environment we have been creating in the last six and half years of steering the leadership of this State. We shall not rest on our oars to protecting lives and properties while creating a level playing field for investors”, he said.

The Governor further encouraged RB to look inwards, source raw materials for its production in the immediate environment.

On his part, Chief Olu Falomo, chairman of the Company, said that RB remains a leading consumer goods company with a vision to provide its consumers with innovative products and solutions for ‘healthier lives and happier homes’.

“Nigeria is available priority market,” Chief Falomo said, “and very important part of our future company strategy. We recognise Nigeria as the jewel of Africa with over 170 million people and has the future demographic dividends with young population under the age of 25 years.

“We also see Nigeria as the epicenter of Africa’s growth and especially Ogun State as the gateway to Nigeria and Africa. RB remains deeply committed to Nigeria and Ogun State. We have invested close to N900million in building a world class distribution centre and logistics infrastructure”, he said.

He expressed optimism that the investments will drive further scale to RB’s manufacturing by facilitating bigger production runs, help make Ogun State the gateway to not just Nigeria but Africa as a whole; “and all these efforts should create more jobs to help grow State and Federal economy”.
