BARCELONA-based Nigerian singer, Ekpenyong, popularly known as Attih Soul, alongside Otta Orchestra, thrilled fans at the just concluded ‘Road to Yalta’ Russian Music Festival (RMF) in Yalta, Russia.

RMF is a yearly international festival that features professional singers from all over the world. This year’s show hosted Nigeria’s Attih Soul, who happened to be the first and only African to have been selected to perform at such a prestigious festival, also saw him performing alongside Russian Yaroslav Sumishevskiy.

His emotional pattern of singing and reverberating voice captivated the audience and made him a crowd favourite. He was so impressive that there are speculations that he might be invited to perform at the next edition of the festival.

After a good performance, chairman of the jury and Russian music executive, Lev Leshchenko, was so impressed that he gave Attih Soul a cash prize, an award of excellence and a Golden Microphone, as he dubbed him, ‘The African With The Golden Voice’.

Attih, who hails from Cross River State and graduated from the University of Calabar with his first degree in biochemistry, he started his singing in Calabar, from where he moved to Abuja to continue his musical career. He has since performed in places such as, South Africa. He equally won the French Music Festival hosted by the Institut De Francais. And on May 29, 2017, he was given the honour of writing and performing the theme song of the 2017 Democracy Day, before President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire nation.
