All is set for the online launch of five children’s books as part of activities in celebrating 2020 Children’s Day.

The books, Elena in the Woods, by Mofifunoluwa Atilola; Battlefield of Heroes by Oluwatito Arije; Moonstones in Wolf land by Oluwabori Arije; The Life of an Exciting and Brilliant Boy by Temiloluwa Modele; and Treasures on a Run, a compilation of short stories by young writers, will be launched at ZOOM, on Wednesday May 27, between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon.

Jordan Hill Book, the publishers of the books, announced the launch in a release, stating that the event, which will have Kunle Kasunmu, host, Channels Book Club, Channels TV, as a guest speaker, includes the unveiling of the Jordan Hill’s Learning Unleashed magazine, an exciting and educational magazine put together by a team of young undergraduates as the editorial board, and with children as the major writing contributors.

The statement reads: “Even though it appeared as an impossible reality in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, with the way it has upturned most of the world’s plans, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to deliver the books as promised.

So once again, this year, in celebration of our young writers’ achievement on their special day, Children’s Day, 27th May, and as we have always done in the past three years, we would still be officially releasing the children’s books to the public, and Covid-19 and its attendant challenges were never going to change that.

“This year has given us a new style. For the first time, we would be having an online book launch in the virtual space, as we release the books as e-books on various e-book sales point starting with Okadabooks.”

While Thelma Ilems, host of The On-Air Book Club, Inspiration FM, will review the book, Collins Teke of Nigeria Info FM will host the event.
